Chapters 46 and 47 Summary

Minho ends up shooting one of the guards in his pinky toe in an attempt to get answers from the guard about what's going on. The guards finally agree to take them to someone who might be able to tell them more information.

The guard speaks to the crowd. She promises the Right Arm is trying to protect them, not harm them. She tries to convince Thomas and the others not to leave, but says if they do, that only a few can go. Thomas and Brenda decide to go alone.

Thomas and Brenda leave with the guard, Lawrence, to talk to the guard's boss. They decide to drive the van instead of going on foot. As they drive away, someone jumps on the roof of the van.
