Chapter 3 Summary

Thomas realizes that he and the other Gladers had been chosen as part of the experiment because they are immune to the Flare. Thomas questions Rat Man as to why they lied about everything. Rat Man says it is one of the variables they introduced for the purpose of the experiment.

Rat Man says he'll take Thomas to take a shower and change his clothes. He walks into another building, where Rat Man leads Thomas to a locker room, and a locker with fresh clothes. Rat Man says when he returns, he'll reunite Thomas with his friends. Thomas tries to speak to Teresa through his thoughts, but cannot connect with her.
