Chapters 71 and 72 Summary

Tony pushes his way into the hospital where they are attending to Larry. The nurse threatens to call security. Tony says he's the police, Larry is his partner and he's going back there. Tony finds Larry's wife in the doorway of Larry's room. She says he's alive, but that the bullet came close to his heart. She assures Tony that Larry is going to be okay.

Tony goes in to see Larry. He tells him he'll tell him everything when Larry is feeling better. When Tony leaves, he has a sudden urge to see his long-term girlfriend, Sharon. Tony gets to his car and drives to Sharon's house.
