Chapters 39 and 40 Summary

When Phil and everyone gathers in Beth's room, she confesses that she is the anonymous source from the story. Jimmy answers some questions from the detectives. Phil says he'll take a copy of the story to print in the St. Pete Times and Beth can dictate the changes she wants to make to him over the phone. The detectives say they have enough to arrest Bill now and if the judge won't issue a warrant that they'll go to the prosecutor. Beth worries that Nick won't love her anymore now that he knows the truth. He assures her that she's courageous and that he'll be back soon.

Jimmy answers all of the questions at the police station. Jake invites Jimmy to go with him for the testing to get his pilot license back while Nick goes to the home and Lynda...
