Chapters 13 and 14 Summary

Jimmy is still in the attic. He had climbed out of the box when he heard Beth coming. He balled up and hid behind another box until she left. He heard the doorbell and voices. He looked out the window and saw the Tampa police car. He wonders if they've connected him to the Tampa burglaries and he wonders what Lisa is thinking.

After the cops leave, Beth is outside walking the puppy. She sees something popping up and down from the attic window. She goes in with her gun and finds Jimmy. He says he got lost and crawled in there the previous night. He asks to use her bathroom while she tries to call his mother.
