Chapter 45 Summary

Flossie is sitting on the floor with a book about dogs. One night her cousin showed up high on something and shot and killed her family. He then sodomized the 7-year-old girl until the drugs began to wear off. Then he fed the exhaust into the car, and, taking her with him, tried to kill himself. He lost his nerve and called 911.
