Chapter 42 Summary

Odd returns to Jacob's room. He asks Jacob questions, but can't find the way into Jacob's mind. Rodion stands at the doorway, impatiently. Odd notices another sketchpad and opens it to see a perfect rendering of the ice monster. Rodion is about to enter the room, but Odd stops him, holding the book up instead. He sees more detailed drawings of the ice creature, and a drawing of the hooded, faceless monk with the necklace of teeth. Just then several bodachs come in, and he quickly closes the book.

Chapter 42 Analysis

Odd is running out of time. He returns to Jacob's room and finds a second sketch pad with detailed drawings of the ice creature and the faceless monk. Odd is going to show it to Rodion but bodachs come and Jacob's secret is safe.
