Chapter 2 Summary

Odd watches the bodachs. They look at the door and quickly leave. Resisting the urge to follow them he sees the student's (Justine) eyes open. Annamarie in the bed next to her says a phrase that Stormy, Odd's girlfriend, used, "Loop me in, Odd one." Wrestling with emotion, he doesn't respond. As much as he wants Stormy back, he knows she's gone. Annamarie fell silent, and looking over at Justine, he sees two tears on her cheek. He leaves the room looking for the bodachs and Boo, his dog.

Chapter 2 Analysis

Odd doesn't want the bodachs to become aware of him, so he wanders around Justine's room adjusting the thermostat and checking the window to make sure it is closed. When the bodachs leave, he doesn't go after them, instead finds himself looking into Justine's open blue eyes. He feels a sudden longing...
