Chapter 27 Summary

Fortifying the school is the first priority, but Odd knows he needs more than ten strong and courageous men who aren't afraid to do battle if necessary. Odd and Mother Superior pick five names. Each has some previous experience that would qualify him to be helpful. His plan is to arm the five with bats and wait. Odd decides to drive to the abbey and pick up as many Brothers as possible. Odd wants Romanovich to drive the second vehicle. He doesn't trust Rodion and would prefer that Rodion be outside their defenses rather than inside. Odd plans to leave Rodion in the Abbey.
