Objective

Kroc has a simple philosophy that is stated at the beginning of Chapter 1. Each person is basically responsible for his own predicament and makes his own problems and happiness. He also believed in taking advantage of any opportunity that presented itself. Kroc became a very successful businessman following this philosophy. The objective of this lesson is to understand this philosophy and how it is applied.

Lesson

Have each student write an in-class paragraph explaining Kroc's philosophy.

- Kroc's philosophy made him very wealthy and successful. Have the students form discussion groups of six to discuss Kroc's philosophy that they wrote in part one. Do they think it is a philosophy that they can relate to? Why or why not?
