Chapter 30 Summary

Jim Prideaux's shoulder is leaking and he is in pain. He treats the wound himself, talking some vodka for the pain. When he finished grading some papers, he went for a walk. He went to the chapel and sat in a pew and felt the cold metal he had taped to the underside of the pew. He developed a system to see if his mail was being watch.

Someone had asked at Mrs. McCullum's where Jim lives. Jim was prepared if he had to flee. While Jim is talking to the boys that evening, he sees George Smiley get out of the car. His first temptation is to go to the church and retrieve his gun but he goes directly to his trailer.
