Chapter 11 Summary

Guilliam is a career intelligence man. After his cover was blown he did odd jobs in London. Guilliam had heard the stories of the botched operations that marked the end of Control's management. One day Smiley fired Guilliam offering no explanation. The next day Guilliam learns more about the big shake-up when Control was out and Percy Alleline was the new head with Bill Haydon as second in command. Control died around Christmas and Guilliam was assigned to Brixton. Now Guilliam is back at Brixton with a list of instructions from Smiley, including photographing various documents inside the Circus. Guilliam also requests some money. Guilliam encounters Bill Haydon, Roy Bland and Toby Esterhase as he completes several tasks.
