Chapter 25 Summary

Smiley and Lacon meet with Minister Sercombe in Mitcham at Mendel's house. Smiley tells Sercombe they must stop the negotiations with the Americans about the secret annexe on Witchcraft. The Minister says he knows of no such thing. Smiley says feeding information through a known leak is not unknown in the world of intelligence. Any deal with the Americans would have the Russians feeding them information also and would put Gerald at the top.

After Sercombe leaves, Lacon hands documents about Jim Prideaux to Smiley.

Chapter 25 Analysis
