Chapter 22 Summary

Penny ends up telling Tally that her parents are separated and that her mom is at another one of meetings in the city. Tally tells her that maybe they are trying to work things out. Tally asks Penny isn't that what she wants so she can move back to the city, but Penny says that sometimes you have to face reality. Tally walks away.

Miss Beans announces Penny's design won and passes around a sign-up sheet for the kids in art class that want to help build the float. Charity and none of her friends sign up. When the bell rings and Tally walks out without Penny, Penny goes to the library and finds Charity and Marcus bent over a book. She runs out of the library, even though Marcus is calling after her, and locks herself in the bathroom. Charity comes in...
