Chapter 4 Summary

On the first day of school, Penny is so nervous that she wakes up at 4 am. She walks to school and manages not to make eye contact with anyone as she enters the front office to get her schedule. She mentions to the secretary there must be a mistake because she has French first period, but Penny takes Spanish. Penny arrives at French to find two of Charity's friends that try to trip her on her way to a desk. In art class, Charity and a table full of her friends are there. A boy walks into the art class and hands the teacher a note. He looks like a boy Penny saw when she was at the beach. Charity mouths to Penny the word "Mine," talking about the boy.
