Chapter 13 Summary

On Sunday morning before dawn, Gram wakes Penny to go blueberry picking with her. On Monday, when Penny wakes up for her school, Gram has gone blueberry picking again. During art class, the teacher tells them they can design a float for the HOG parade. If their design is chosen, the HOG Queen and her court will ride on the float. At lunch on the lawn, Tally pretends to eat a lard sandwich. She talks loud enough for Charlotte to hear saying that lard is a large part of our diets and when we started eating no- and low-fat diets is when we started to get fat.
