Chapter 16 Summary

The Lord steps forward on the platform, saying that Mr. Tiny's prophecy is that he would have to fight Larten Crepsley, which is why they tried to lure Shan instead. Crepsley begins to fight the Lord, Steve and Harst. After taking down Steve by breaking his nose, Crepsley swings, picks up the Lord and ropes the Lord of the Vampaneze into the stakes of the fire pit below. The Lord is impaled on one of the stakes and dies. They've won the war.

Chapter 16 Analysis

Now that the clan has won, they have to be able to get out of the tunnels alive. This also foreshadows a change of the world as the Vampires, Vampets and Vampaneze know it because the war is now over.
