Chapter 15 Summary

One of the bullets hits Lord Vampaneze in the right shoulder. The Vampaneze and Vampets rush in a wave to get to Burgess. This leaves the rope unguarded so Crepsley heads toward it to get to the platform. The trio decides it must be Crepsley because Steve is Shan's former best friend and Harst is Vancha's brother. When Harst sees Crepsley on the rope, he points the attention of the Vampets and Vampaneze to attack Crepsley to save their Lord. Shan and Vancha start to fight the vampets and vampaneze. Harst severs the rope that Crepsley is on so he swings wildly into the flames of the fire, but Crepsley manages to climb higher on the rope so that he emerges from the flames and gets closer to the platform.
