Chapter 11 Summary

When it's time to leave the silo to meat Vancha in the tunnels, Crepsley's ankle is better and he can walk without assistance. When they get to the cavern of the tunnel, they realize they don't have any weapons to fight. Then, Vancha appears. Vancha leads them to a pile of weapons the Vampaneze left behind when they were clearing away their dead. Vancha still has the Chief Inspector, Alice Burgess, tied up as his hostage. He frees her so she can help them fight. They set off to find the lair of the Vampaneze.

Chapter 11 Analysis

Ironically, Shan, Crepsley and Harkat show up for the battle of their lives without weapons. In another twist of irony, Alice Burgess believes Vancha and his conspirators are her enemy. In reality, they are on her side but she doesn't realize this.
