Chapter 14 Summary

Hodges sits with Doc Rabbit and Gilliland for the last radio watch. Doc opens a can of C-rations and eats it while Hodges wakes Gilliland up because he's snoring so loud. It's daylight now and Hodges teases Gilliland about his R&R (rest and relaxation). Today is the day and he tells Gilliland he'll be back, but Gilliland says he's never coming back to the bush.

Gilliland has served ten years and is really looking forward to his R&R. Doc teases him a little more, then grabs some toilet paper and heads toward the Ridge. The men from Waterbull's team are just coming in from the night's LP and run into Doc. They tell Doc that they almost shot him not knowing who he is, and Doc laughs.

As the men arrive from their night's LP they all start teasing Bagger and...
