Chapter 25 Summary

The men walk from Henderson Hill to Go Noi Island. A lot of the Marines call Go Noi the Mile Wide Killer Fields. They are actually searching for the Phu Thuan (black market sellers). They creep into villages and sell goods to the VC. Senator knows there's no way of finding them without inside intelligence and they certainly don't have that. He feels like bait dangling from a hook. The men walk through chest high water filled with leeches and elephant grass that stands taller than them. They march on blindly.

Suddenly, shots are fired. It's the point patrol ahead of them. They know they are on point patrol next, as the Marines share this responsibility. Two hours later they are on point patrol. Rounds are fired and Bagger and Wild Man go down. Wild Man is hit, so Snake instructs the others...
