Create an artistic work in any medium depicting an interesting scene, setting or person in Kitchen Confidential.

Cooking Show

Divide the class into pairs and have students prepare a cooking show segment. If possible, have students prepare a dish mentioned in Kitchen Confidential. Have students present the step-by-step instructions to the other students.

Short Story

Research life in a commercial kitchen and compose a short story that takes place in this setting.

Alternate Ending/Epilogue

Have students rewrite the end of the book so that it concludes differently, or, write an epilogue that further explains what happens to Bourdain after the end of the novel.

Potluck

Have a potluck. Have students create a dish mentioned in the book, or a dish that uses some of the ingredients mentioned in the book.
