Summary

Part Three is titled Metamorphosis. In Chapter 22, Blue is dragged through the tunnels of the Wasp Hive. He hopes Cricket and Sundew got away. He hates feeling he has done something wrong but feels he is not bad. He goes through his reasons, including that he wants to find Luna and that there was no need for Queen Wasp to “so secretive and menacing and terrifying in the first place” (186). They enter a building that leads down to a cavern. The room is brilliantly lit from all the flamesilk being produced. Two guards have a conversation about their opinion of Blue, and that he is a “little scrap” of a dragon. For the first time, Blue wonders what Queen Wasp will do with him if he is not a flamesilk, now that he has seen the situation.
