Tui T. Sutherland's novel, Wings of Fire Legends: Darkstalker, is the story of the land of Pyrrhia in a world inhabited by seven distinct tribes of dragons. Typically, the tribes do not intermingle other than for trade and meetings aimed at peaceful relationships. Some of the tribes are enemies and are constantly at war. In this world, several young dragons come of age as they struggle to deal with emerging powers while finding their place in their communities and establishing relationships. The novel's main themes are the desire for power, the positive/negative effects of relationships, and the link between power and madness.
