Point of View

The novel is divided into chapters, with each from a specific perspective. The opening is from Prince Arctic's perspective, and that is the only chapter from his point of view. The remaining chapters are divided between the perspectives of Clearsight, Fathom, and Darkstalker. Each perspective gives the reader a specific view of events and the varying perspectives mean the reader gets a fuller picture than might otherwise be seen. The chapters from Clearsight's perspective include glimpses of many of the futures she envisions. Though Darkstalker can see the future, it is either not very strong or he chooses to ignore any future that is not a happy one. He does not delve into specifics and has only vague impressions of what he sees. This is one example of the contrasts that happen because of the varying perspectives.
