Summary

In Chapter 9, Cricket believes she can figure out how to get Swordtail and where to find Luna. She asks Blue to let her try. They roam around in Cricket's school, and Blue discovers Cricket is on an agriculture track, though she often works outside the boundaries of her teachers' approval. She is curious about Blue's school. Cricket has a tiny tree growing in her terrarium project, the result of a seed she found outside. Her teacher told her to destroy it but she has not done so yet. Cricket leads the way to the chemistry lab. Blue is upset that cricket is stealing chemicals. They have a conversation about rules, including Blue's belief that rules are always meant to be followed. Blue is impressed that Cricket thinks the situation over before she answers that rules are usually “things that get in the way...
