Chapter 17 Summary

Moira is infuriated with Cian and leaving Larkin to address the people of Geall in the arena, she storms after Cian. She remonstrates him, telling him that he had no right to kill the second vampire. Cian's anger is even colder. He proves, by touching Moira's injured side that she was in no condition to take on the second vampire. Their encounter ends with a very angry and passionate kiss, witnessed by Glenna, who tells Blair. The three women of the Circle of Six have become very close, and Blair and Glenna are concerned for inexperienced Moira kissing a vampire. Like Blair, Moira puts aside her personal feelings; she is to be Queen and must lead her people.

The demonstration changes the mind of the women of Geall. Dervil, one woman who had previously defied Glenna's attempts to teach them to battle vampires...
