Chapter 2 Summary

Blair suggests a scouting expedition to check out Lilith's base of operations, using daylight to their advantage and going to the cliffs and caves where Lilith hides. Psychological attack and intelligence gathering is their purpose; they do not intend to go covertly. Hoyt and Glenna are to handle fire, which they can create in the palms of their hands. Cian, being a vampire, must remain behind as they are scouting during daylight hours. The point of view then changes to Cian when Hoyt wakes him up to tell him of the plan. Cian is still half-hearted about everything and really wishes that it would all end and then he could return to his world of self-imposed solitude. His memory of when he was changed is not a good one for him and it haunts him. He asks Hoyt to pick up an order...
