Chapter 9 Summary

Larkin wakens to find Blair has left his room. He is still very sore but recovering. Larkin finds Blair working out in the training room and admires how smoothly she moves. When she realizes he is there, she distances herself, affecting interest only in his physical condition. Larkin closes the physical distance and kisses her. Blair responds physically, but then stops him saying that the feelings they have for each other are too complicated. Larkin say they are only as complicated as they make them. Blair disagrees. Larkin argues that he knows she is first a demon hunter, then as a soft person with feelings. He can see that she has been hurt in the past and is protecting herself. Blair does not like the fact that she is not in control in a relationship.
