Chapter 3 Summary

Hoyt, Glenna and Moira cast a circle atop the cliff over where Lilith and her vampires are hiding in the caves and tunnels below. Hoyt and Glenna are the two strongest in their magic, but they have Moira join them to add her untested magical strength to theirs. Together they visualize the cages of people stacked in the caves and can actually feel their terror. They see a woman with dead eyes being taken at Lilith's command. Lilith's female vampire lover, Lora, wishes for a diversion. The man in the next cage is angry and fighting, and the three magic ones focus all their energies on him because he still has the strength to fight and survive.
