Chapter 12 Summary

The next morning, Gideon joins Eva in the shower. She performs oral sex on him again. She thinks that the sexual therapy must be working for Gideon because he didn't have any nightmares the night before. When he tells her he wants to take her to dinner and back to his place tonight, she resists a little. He encourages her to trust him and agrees.

At work, a Google alert comes in revealing a picture of Gideon dining with Magdalene the night before and pictures of Cary and Eva at lunch the previous day. The captions indicate that Eva might be cheating on Gideon because she lives with Cary and that Gideon might be paying her back for it. Eva tries to push it out of her mind because she remembers what Gideon said about them having to trust one another.
