Chapter 11 Summary

As Eva thinks about the picture of her and Gideon in the paper, she also thinks that she has been careless in exposing herself. She has remained anonymous and now she has blown it. On her way to meet Cary for lunch, she runs into Gideon and his lunch guests in the lobby. He asks her what's wrong. She mentions the picture. He hints that he knows about it because he is the one that had it placed in the paper so that he could announce to everyone that they are together and to get their status correct.

At lunch, Eva expresses her concerns to Cary about reporters finding out the truth about her. Cary assures Eva that Stanton had all of that buried. He also suggests that she and Gideon go through couples counseling. When she returns from lunch, she gets a...
