Chapter 6 Summary

Eva calls her dad to update him on her new job and new living situation. While she is talking to her dad, she thinks about her stepbrother abusing her and how her father doesn't know. She says as soon as her mother found out, Monica divorced her husband, the father of the son that was abusing Eva.

Eva gets ready for the party. When she is done, Cary tells her that he's printed out some research on Gideon and left it on her desk, if she's interested. Eva goes to her room to read the information. She finds out that Gideon's father was caught in a Ponzi scheme and committed suicide when Gideon was five. His mother remarried and had two more children.

Gideon comes to pick Eva up for the charity dinner. On the ride in the limo, Eva convinces Gideon to...
