Summary

In Chapter 22, Sundew knows othermind is still present, though losing Hawthorn's body throws everything into chaos for a moment. The breath-of-evil vines loosen. They discuss the situation from high in a tree and realize Hawthorn's leafspeak was an important element. Without that power, othermind cannot make the plants grow, meaning they will only grow at their normal rate. Sundew wants to attack quickly, but the others help her realize that is not possible. Many LeafWings are now in the thrall of the plant, meaning the four of them would be fighting everyone. She now realizes othermind is the true enemy. Cricket wants to rush to Blue but feels she must save Bumblebee first. Willow agrees, saying they must save everyone who is not affected. Sundew agrees and they rush to Sundew's village first. Sundew pushes them to leave and they follow her command...
