Summary

In Chapter 13, Bumblebee says “Beebuf” as a means of explaining why she caused the situation. Nettle begins to torment Sundew for her predicament. Sundew tries to reason with the plant, which happens to be a sundew, but it is hungry. Bumblebee continues to say words that include “buf.” Sundew eventually realizes Bumblebee saw something and Willow says there is a huge tsetse fly, “three times the size of Bumblebee” (139). Cricket remembers reading that tsetse flies are attracted to blue things. Sundew sends Bumblebee to retrieve some blue morpho-wings from one of her pouches. She throws them nearby and the tsetse fly investigates. Sundew slams it into the plant, which then agrees to release Sundew and Bumblebee. Sundew and Willow hold each other for a moment, relieved the danger is past, but Nettle urges them to move on. They have a map directing them...
