Summary

In Chapter 17, Snowfall follows the dragon (Sky), who screams when Snowfall catches up. There is a scavenger named Wren on Sky's head, and she shouts at Snowfall, saying scavengers are not pets. Sky counters, saying Wren is his pet, which makes her angry. Snowfall fears this is another animus curse but soon discovers it is not. Wren says the scavenger Winter was keeping is named Daffodil, and that she was supposed to learn to speak the dragon language as a means of protecting herself. The conversation is interrupted when Snowfall slips into another vision.

She is very tiny and is leaping around a cave. She is a scavenger (human) named Raven and her friend Mole is angry that she is hopping around so close to the dragons in the cave. Raven counters, saying the dragons cannot catch her. Raven knows something is changing...
