Summary

Part Two is titled Sanctuary and Scavengers. In Chapter 11, Snowfall and Crystal are wary of each other, both believing the other is stalking them. Snowfall soon decides Crystal has been here the whole time, and has not been in the Ice Kingdom gathering support to kill Snowfall and take the throne. The conversation is interrupted when a MudWing dragon tackles Snowfall. She uses the magic from the strength tiara and hurls him away. Crystal rushes after him. She identifies him as Gharial who says he was trying to save Crystal. Crystal asks Snowfall outright, “Are you here to kill me” (124). They both quickly discover each had feared the other. Snowfall feared Crystal would kill her to take the throne and Crystal feared Snowfall would kill her to eliminate the competition.
