Summary

In Chapter 9, Hadrian stays for five days in Colnora. He obtains a new horse named Dancer. The ghosts of his past haunt him, and he travels to Sheridan to try to distance himself from them. He stops for a rest and to get directions from a farmer. On the rest of his journey, Hadrian wonders about the letter he had received and how it had found him in the wilds. He could not understand it. The letter had led him to quit fighting. It told him of his father’s death.

Hadrian reaches Sheridan University and goes in search of Professor Arcadius. During his search, Hadrian runs into Angdon. He is a student at the school and the son of a baron.
