Summary

In Chapter 7, Hadrian reaches the city of Colnora. He is exhausted, but he cannot sleep. He sees Vivian every time he closes his eyes. Hadrian wonders the city looking for the Sheriff’s office. He finds the office and bangs on the door. He tells the sheriff about the killings. The man is tired and not interested in trekking down the river in the dark and rain. Hadrian tells the man his story as they wait for daylight. The man questions him about the man in the hood who Hadrian believes is the killer. There was a series of grisly murders in the town a year ago and the killer is said to have worn a black cloak with a hood.
