Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 Summary

For three days Alexandra was measured for outfits and not allowed to see her future husband. When she finally meets with Jordan, she tells him that she will not marry him because they are not in love, and because she has tried to speak to him for three days, and he has not made himself available. Alexandra tells Jordan that she is not disenchanted with life, as he is, and still believes that something wonderful will happen to her. Jordan likes her spirit and tells her so. Yet she tells him that "like" is not enough to base a marriage on, and both know that love is the answer. He draws her in close and kisses her.
