Chapter 4 Summary

On her way home from Mary O'Toole's house, Alexandra hears a gunshot. Jordan Hawthorne was being attacked by a pair of thugs and out of nowhere saw a horse galloping towards him with a knight in armor atop of it. One of the thugs shot at Alexandra and her horse startled and sent her flying into the air, landing hard onto the second bandit. The bandit recovered before she did and ran toward Jordan. Alexandra regained control of her body, got her gun and killed the other bandit. Once she realized what she had done, she passed out and Jordan ran to her aid.

Jordan takes Alexandra home and carries her to the door under her protest. He is in disbelief and very embarrassed that this tiny girl saved his life. She reveals her intelligence, and Jordan thinks about how different her life...
