Chapter 13 Summary

Father Callahan goes to Matt's hospital room, where he sees that the librarian has brought Matt many books concerning the supernatural. Matt asks Father Callahan if he has noticed anything unusual lately. Father Callahan says that actually, he has noticed some people missing, and some other odd things going on. At first, he thinks that Matt is going crazy from his illness, but after a while, Matt tells him everything, and he says he does not think Matt is crazy. He tells Matt a story he heard from another priest named Father Bissonette, who presided over the funeral of a young girl. The girl's family told Father Bissonette that a vampire had killed the girl. Matt asks Father Callahan to join the group of believers who will try to fight Barlow. Callahan walks back to St. Andrews and tries to call Ben, but...
