Chapter 10 Summary

Sandy McDougall wakes up late and realizes that something is wrong. Usually, Randy has woken her up by now. She goes to check on the baby and finds him dead. Although he is usually bruised up from her abuse, his bruises have all healed and he looks beautifully lifelike. Terrified, she refuses to believe he is dead. She shakes him, yells his name several times, and even stuffs him into his high chair and feeds him. When the food plops out of his mouth, however, she finally starts screaming.
