Chapter 2 Summary

Ben meets a girl at the park. She is probably in her twenties, and her name is Susan. She recognizes him because she has seen his photo on one of the books he wrote. Susan and Ben begin to talk, and then they go to Spencer's for an ice cream soda, where they talk more. He learns that she is an artist. She fills him in on some of the things that have been going on in the town, and he tells her a little about how he used to live there for four years with his Aunt Cindy when he was a child. After talking with Ben for a while longer, Susan says she has to go because she has some things to do, but they agree to meet at seven thirty.
