Chapter 20 Summary

Darcy convinces Ethan to take her out to meet his friends. She hopes Ethan has invited handsome, eligible friends and seeks assurance from him she doesn't look pregnant in her outfit. Ethan and Darcy arrived late to the restaurant, and Darcy is disappointed when she sees Ethan's friends are a non-descript man and heavy woman who does not look happy to meet her. Darcy finds it immediately apparent that she and Phoebe will not get along. Phoebe appears to know something about Darcy that causes Phoebe to smirk at her. Darcy spends the dinner in silence.

After dinner, Phoebe affirms Darcy's suspicions by telling Darcy she met Rachel months before and liked her. Darcy storms out of the restaurant determined to find her way back to Ethan's alone. After many wrong turns, Darcy finds herself back outside the restaurant where Ethan is waiting...
