Chapter 6 Summary

John After says he's 19. He also tells Meg he has to stay late to get the criminal medical care and then transport him to the station. Tiffany offers to drive Meg to the station to pick up her motorcycle, before Meg goes to her shift at the diner, she grabs her yearbook from the trailer. She realizes that something must have happened to John After to go from a track star and highest scorer on the ACT to stay in the small town and become a police officer. Meg also hints to the fact that she got sick and dyed her hair blue. Meg also realizes that she is developing a crush on John.

After her shift, Meg goes to the park for her jog. She runs into John running there with his shirt off. She suddenly wishes her hair wasn't blue and...
