Chapters 31-34 Summary

InHolly quietly makes her way out of the courthouse and into the woods across the street. Holly goes as quickly as she can, but her leg slows her down. Holly is nearly caught a few times, but she finally makes her way to a clearing where Borken is about to execute Reacher. Holly moves into the center of the crowd and threatens to kill herself if they do not let Reacher go.

Borken is clearly shaken by the idea of losing Holly as a hostage. Borken announces that he had already changed his mind about killing Reacher for the death of Bell.
