Chapters 18-21 Summary

General Johnson goes to visit Webster to find out if any progress has been made on the case. Webster brings Johnson up to date on the case, but cannot make any promises that Holly will be rescued. Reacher slips out of the barn to see if he can possibly get himself and Holly out of harm's way. Unfortunately, there is no way for Reacher to procure a vehicle without alerting the other kidnappers. Reacher returns to the barn, makes a hole in the wall, and then runs the corpse of the dead kidnapper more than a mile from the farm where they are being held. Reacher then relocks the front door, slips into his stall through the hole in the wall, and repairs both the hole and his broken metal ring to keep the other kidnappers from knowing what has taken...
