Chapters 22-23 Summary

Mac is beginning to worry about the progress of the case, because he knows the longer it takes to find a kidnapping victim, the more likely a living person will not be found. Evidence from the burned truck suggests the kidnappers came from Montana, and that it was last known to be in the possession of a man named Beau Borken. Mac is also informed about the discovery of the body of the driver from the security footage in North Dakota, making them believe the kidnappers are headed back to Montana. Finally, Mac learns that the kidnappers rented a white panel truck with the dead dentist's credit card.
