Summary

Jace attends Valentine’s funeral, but Clary does not. Clary worries that she has not seen Jace since the battle ended three days before, but she understands he was in the hospital during that time. Jace speaks to Luke at the funeral about his relationship to Valentine and the fact that he feels some sadness at his passing. Afterward, Jace goes to Amatis’s house to see Clary, but he learns she is not there. Amatis, however, gives Jace a box filled with things that belonged to Stephen Herondale, her former husband and Jace’s father.

There is to be a celebration for the Shadowhunters. Clary plans to attend, but she cannot decide what to wear. Clary returns to Amatis’s home and overhears her mother and Luke talking. Luke tells Jocelyn that he plans to move to Idris...
